CUBA PART 5.
Was another early start this day, but not a lot planned for it. Since Edith and I were so tired from the previous days of walking, all we wanted to do was see two museums. First one was the museum of Cuban art. I loved this museum. We spent well over two hours just gazing at the most abstract, simple, old, and new pieces. Each one telling a story of Cubas history. It was a very great experience. I got in for almost the price of nothing pretending to be Edith's mute daughter. Otherwise American tourists have to pay more. Next across the street was the museum of the revolution. This had so interesting highlights, but a lot was very detailed articles about a lot of different people, and unless your a major, and I mean major, history buff this museum will bore you as well. But I tried to make the most of my time there so I read and read and learned a lot. Seeing the aircrafts and tanks they used in the war though were pretty cool. Also the huge replica of the boat that Che took over to Cuba was very cool, though you couldn't see much of it through the glass case it was in. Being cooped up inside museums all day made Edith and I want to walk out to the Malecon for a fresh breathe of air. Thunder storm clouds starting hovering over us and we knew it was time to head home, cutting our day a little short. That night I had a little surprise of my own for the two goons. I decided I would treat them to the famous Havana nightclub scene. We started of at "La Bodeguita Del Medio" where we had mojitos and ended at Ernest Hemingway's "El Floridita" for a few more daiquiris. My favorite was the strawberry, but the original lemon was just as good. It was fun giving back to them after long days of them giving me so much. They appreciated it a lot which made me happy. Eduardo of corse walked around all the places and told me fun stories, also taking pictures of me and making me embarrassed, just like family should. Music filled the streets at night and it was very lively. I wrote my name of the wall of the Bodeguita, right next to Eduardos who wrote it a long time ago. After this night, there was no doubt in the world they were my family.
