VAN LIVIN'
As most of you know I have spent the past 7 months living in my family's Volkswagen van. Boy has it been an adventure. I got to say living the simple life was sweet. I was thankful to have a place to use a kitchen, bathroom, and a safe place to park every night with some good old family friends. There was definitely some hard times but mostly good memories. There are not many 19 year old girls you voluntarily want to live in there van, but I was up for the challenge. Throughout my stay, I switch around my set-up a few times just to see what worked best, but to be honest I never found the perfect on because I didn't have the time or permission to build any extra structure within the vehicle. Building more in the van would have helped but I made do without it. I had the backseat laid out as my bed and to the side of me was my "closet", which I recommend not having a taste for fashion if you want to live in a car because there is simply no room for that. But what can I say, I love clothes and they also gave me extra warmth on cold nights! Below me, underneath where I slept was more bins of clothes, adventure gear, and shoes. You could say I was prepared for anything at any moment, whether it was rock climbing, yoga, camping, or diving, I was ready. The van and I went on many adventures around the area as well. Yosemite, Utah, and Arizona are just some of the few. I had fun, but maybe next time I would like my own van to build and innovate a more useful space.
