THAILAND - Phi Phi Island - Part 2
The next morning we did the viewpoint but not at sunrise because we were still recovering from the previous night. We brought trash bags with us so on the way up we picked up 2 bags worth! The hike was pretty steep and very hot, but also riddled with trash. Once we got to the top I think we sweated 5 pounds each and we asked the kiosk guy if we could use the trash as our “payment” for entering to the viewpoint and he said yes! He appreciated us picking ge trash up since the island was the worst case I’ve ever seen of pollution. At the top we could see almost the whole island and it was beautiful! Turquoise water and white sand beaches! There was a deck at the top where we took a few pictures and then got the idea to do some acro yoga! Perfect backdrop for some epic photos! And of corse we had another audience once we started our routine. Then we notice half way through these French guys we posing in front of us with thumbs up and it was pretty funny to see. We stopped to chat and tell them how we do acro yoga. Then Monica offered to teach them and all the sudden on of the French guys was on her feet flying! We told them to try it together but they said that was too gay, very narrow minded... We exchanged names on Facebook because they wanted us to join them later at a pool party called Ibiza. When we said goodbye we sat down on a near by rock and peopled watched as everyone try desperately to get the “perfect” shot of the island. While I was watching I didn’t notice the monkey that was stealing my GoPro! All the sudden someone yelled at me to watch my stuff and I quickly snagged back my GoPro from the monkeys strong grip. This was no shy monkey, as you can tel from the photos... we sat in Monica’s lap playing with her hair and grabbing her boobs. He ever posed for a few photos with us! We were sure to wash out hands twice before touching any of our belongings but we then headed back down the mountain for some lunch. We picked up two more trash bags on the way down, but we were full not even half way down... Back in our ice cold room we relaxed a bit and made a game plan for the rest of the day. We left everything in the room and only had our bikinis and a few Baht (thailand money) on us. We hid our key underneath our bungalow and took a papaya and a mango to the beach. At the beach we sat and devoured our fresh fruit for a quick lunch and then decided to burry our money under a tree on the beach and walk into the water. Our plan was to swim to a far off beach in the distance in the hopes of eacaping the loud pumping music and drunk sunburnt tourists. The water was so fresh once we got out past the shadows and into the open ocean. We sang songs and floated on, alternating on our backs and stomaches. We started to freestyle rap and make up a song, then made a goal to make a meaningful song about the horrible ways we treat our Mother Earth. Time went by slowly as we went along. But we soon we’re halfway there and decided to swim to shore and walk a bit to give our arms a rest. Feeling like a fish out of water, we hauled ourselves out and walked a bit of the very hot, black, rugged rocks. We found a few swings posted up on these tiny quite beaches and it was so beautiful! After swinging we walked a bit further down to find a secluded beach where no one was at. We then hopped back into the water to swim the rest of the way to reach the huge mountain in the distance. The sun was getting to us, we also forgot to bring sunscreen... I think I heard my skin screaming at me in hatred. We found ourselves isolated and it was so freeing we took off our bikinis and floated around in our natural state like mermaids! We also came around to find these volcanic rock towers rising out of the water and turns out they were perfect for a short little bouldering session. Many attempts tired us out and we swam a little further to reach our final goal, the mother mountain. We climbed up top the mountain side that disappeared into the thick dense jungle. Our arms felt like noodles and our skin was like slim. I was so mellowed our from swimming all day that I sat on a flat rock and meditated for at least 30 minutes while Monica preformed a ceremony near the jungle and did some meditating as well. The thought of swimming back entered my mind and I was terrified. I think the swim to the mountain was 3 miles, but there was no other way back but to swim it again. In the water we went and my mind was focused straight ahead. For me swimming was a blessing rather than walking on the hot rocks. My feet had a heartbeat from walking on the other beaches rocks and I couldn’t even stand on them they hurt so bad. But for Monica swimming was not a first choice. Once we were halfway she hopped out and found 2 unmatched flip flops in a garbage pile and she walked the rest of the way. I stayed in the water though. Once at the swing beach I beaches myself like a whale Bea said there was sand that I could walk on. We found a secret path from the swing beach that hopefully led back into town, which it did! But my feet were so raw I was suffering. Monica lended me one of her flip flops and I hopped on one foot all the way back to town. Before we went to our bungalow we dug up our money and I went to the room to rest my skin from the sun rays and Monica went to go eat something in town. I took a nap and got ready for going to the Ibiza pool party with the three French guys. When Monica got back we went to the beach for an acro yoga session in front of the pool party place, there we waited for the guys to show up. Once they came we all entered the pool and started to dance and splash around. The whole night we did not drink or even have an appetite too due to the previous night. But I got my groove on and danced while running away from drunk guys grabbing you every which way. My ears were clogged to the max and we danced from 5-10 in the water. I got out and my skin had the weirdest feeling ever to it, i don’t think the pool was even water anymore. It was probably half alcohol and pee, God knows what else... the walk home we got some cup of noodles and quickly went back to our bungalow to shower. We brushed out teeth 3 times and rinsed our bodies inside and out a few times as well. Still never felt clean after that. As we payed in bed our bodies still were awake from dancing for so long and we were so sun drunk from the long swim we started to loose our minds. I think we laughed for an hour straight so hard because we were amazed at what the island had brought us so far in experiences. Our beds were also harder than the ground and we were able to do head stands on them! I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe! We started to take out all the clothes from our bags and put it under our sheets to create a more comfortable bed, but nothing helped. We had a few more days of this...
