THAILAND - Koh Phayam - Part 4
I was sure to wake up at 6:30 exactly to get Lucy up and ready for her ferry ride at 7. So I started helping pack her bags and get herself dressed. Meanwhile she was moving slow and was taking stuff out of her bag to give to us. She gave us almost half of her bag of clothes saying she didn't need it and that she wanted us to have it. I didn't want anything but I was happy to except it as long as she would get up and go! I let Moni walk her to the pier and make sure she actually got on the boat this time. As I waited I sat on the beach deck and stretched to release my stress. I had the best papaya in my life for breakfast. It was so juicy and sweet, great way to start the day fresh. Moni came back and told me the great news that Lucy was finally on her way to Bangkok. We both talked about the experience and understood that she definitely needed help and we were thankful we did help her, but maybe next time we would talk it over between the two of us before we use up a whole day. After that was over we wanted to enjoy our last day of island life before we leave tomorrow for the mainland. We got up and laid in the sun and did nothing but tan. This only lasted a few hours until the sun got way too hot to a point where we needed to jump in the ocean, which then brought us to the idea to swim out to this abandoned fisher boat. We swam 30 minutes in the calm water until we got to it. We climbed up the back ladder and the whole boat was covered in bird shit. It was so cool though!! We jumped ofd the sides a few times and explored inside the cabin. I pretend to be the captain and we had a great time. After we swam back to shore. When we got back we went to lunch at mama's and got some more coke at the store. We wanted to stop at this resort before we got back to the bungalow to try and swim in their pool and get fancy cocktails. But even if we bought cocktails we could not get in the pool and we would have to pay $10 in order to get in. So we got up and walked out of the resort defeated. We stopped as soon as we heard a white man ask us what went wrong and why we were leaving. He was dressed in a business outfit and looked like he had a lot of money. We got talking and he actually owns the entire resort and offered to buy us a drink and show us around the island. We kindly refused due to the creepiness and large age gap but he said his offer would stand until we changed our mine. Back to the bungalow we opened up our bottle of rum and managed to finish it. We laid under a tree on the beach in the shade and danced to the old classic middle school songs. We sang so loud and had a blast. We were rolling in the ocean and hanging off the tree limbs, managed to get a few pictures while doing so. Real life beach bums. This lasted for a few hours until we got tired and wanted to go for a little motorbike ride to the other side of the island. We were singing and letting our hair blow in the wind. Great way to end the day. On the other side at our private beach there was no one there. We did yoga and meditated on rocks. We watched the sky turn all sorts of colors as the time passed. We soon got hungry and went to dinner. Back at the bungalow, they were showing Planet Earth on a projector screen! So we all sat in bean bags and enjoyed the night. Super cool.
